at approximately 1515 hours, the Grinnell Police Department received a
complaint of a vehicle driven by Dale Everett Bogue, Jr age 20, of
Tama
,
IA
was enroute from
Tama
County
to
Grinnell
,
IA.
The
caller informed the police that Bogue did not have a driver’s license and
this was later verified through a records check.
The caller also gave police a description of the vehicle.
Grinnell
Police Officers stopped this vehicle at approximately 1535 hours, at the
intersection of 6th and Summer ST.,
Grinnell
,
IA.
The
driver identified as Dale Everett Bogue, Jr age 20 of Tama, was arrested for
driving without a valid driver’s license.
During the search of this vehicle pursuant to the arrest, several bags
of plant material believed to be marijuana was located and seized.
There were also items and devices found in the vehicle believed to be
used to consume marijuana.
There
were two additional passengers in the vehicle, both minors, whose names will
not be released at this time.
The
Jasper/Poweshiek Drug Taskforce was requested to assist with this
investigation. As the
investigation evolved, evidence was presented supporting the charge of the
criminal act of distribution of marijuana by Bogue to two persons under the
age of 18.
On
04/14/2005, the Jasper/Poweshiek Drug Taskforce, the Mid Iowa Narcotics
Enforcement Taskforce (MINE)(Jasper County), the Mid Iowa Drug Taskforce
(Marshalltown), and the Tama Police Department executed two search warrants
within the City of Tama. Additional
evidence was located and seized supporting the original criminal investigation
and complaint. There were also
other items of evidence that were found, showing that Bogue is a registered
sex offender and may not be properly registered with his current residential
address. The Tama authorities are
following up this matter.
During
one of the search warrants in Tama, Chura Rhonda Winter age 23, of Tama was
arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) and
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
This
investigation is still ongoing and additional charges or indictments may
follow. Anyone with information

A
Class B Felony upon conviction is punishable by a penalty of a prison sentence
not to exceed 25 years. A class D
Felony upon conviction is punishable by a prison sentence not to exceed 5
years and or a fine not to exceed $7500.
For
a serious misdemeanor, there shall be a fine of at least two hundred fifty
dollars but not to exceed one thousand five hundred dollars.
In addition, the court may also order imprisonment not to exceed one
year.
For
a simple misdemeanor, there shall be a fine of at least fifty dollars but not
to exceed five hundred dollars. The
court may order imprisonment not to exceed thirty days in lieu of a fine or in
addition to a fine.
